The problem we’re solving
Crisis doesn’t happen in isolation, and most people in distress don’t turn first to professionals. They turn to someone they trust - a coworker, a friend, a chaplain, a mentor, a leader in their community.
When those people are prepared, outcomes improve. When they aren’t, the consequences can be devastating.
LEADER: Peer Crisis Support exists to change that.
The LEADER framework
LEADER is a new framework for Crisis Management and focuses on those who are closest to those in crisis: the peer. Friends, family members, co-workers… the people you see every day may be going through the hardest parts of their lives. When their world starts to crumble, will you be ready to help?
LEADER is scientific, proven, and practical. It stands for
- Learn
- Engage
- Address
- Decide
- Escort
- Reintegrate
These easy to follow concepts help prepare the next generation of peer LEADERs that are so important to helping those in need.
Built around the LEADER model, our training provides a clear, practical framework for recognizing, responding to, and supporting others through moments of crisis. The framework covers the full crisis management cycle:
- Prevention and early recognition - identifying precursors before they escalate
- Intervention - communicating effectively in high-stress situations and stabilizing individuals in distress
- Postvention and reintegration - supporting long-term resilience after a crisis event
- Ethical boundaries - understanding your role, your limits, and how to act with purpose
Drawing from research in psychology, crisis response, and social support, LEADER translates proven concepts into actionable skills - because knowledge without application doesn’t help anyone in a real moment.
Who this training is for
LEADER was designed for leaders, peers, chaplains, mentors, and paraprofessionals - anyone positioned to support others in a community, workplace, military unit, school, or faith setting. No prior clinical training is required. What’s required is a willingness to be prepared.
